For the 2,200th anniversary of the founding of the Roman city, the NaonisAssocation intends to promote the archeological site Aquileia with a multi-media project entitled “Il Mistero di Aquileia” (“The Mystery of Aquleia”).

Numerous conferences and film projections, as well as theatrical performances, will be employed to transmit the importance of the great past that characterized the birth of the identity of the city of Aquileia.

The historical mystery, which triggered the original project, takes us back to the II century of the Christian Era, when the Roman Empire clashed withlocal communities who followed gnostic cults coming from the east, in particular from Alexandria of Egypt, which had flourishing commercial ties to Aquileia.

Scientific Manager and curator of the events will be GuglielmoZanette, with a degree in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, who has worked for years with the ScuolaMosaicisti del Friuli to support and promote nationally and internationally the creative talents of young mosaicists.
